Can Tourists Drive a Ferrari in Los Angeles with a Foreign License?
Visiting Los Angeles and dreaming of driving a Ferrari through Hollywood?
VIP Hollywood Tours welcomes foreign visitors, and you don’t need a California or U.S. driver’s license to enjoy the experience.
A valid foreign photo driver’s license is accepted, provided the information can be clearly read in English. Here’s what to know before booking.
What Do You Need to Drive?
To join a Ferrari driving experience with VIP Hollywood Tours, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Bring your original, valid physical driver’s license with your photo.
- Make sure your license information is readable in English.
A photo or screenshot does not replace your original license. If you’re unsure whether your documents meet the requirements, contact our team before booking.
Please arrive
15 minutes before departure so we can check your license and introduce you to the Ferrari.
An Automatic Ferrari, with a Copilot Beside You

Our Ferrari California T is automatic, so no manual-driving experience is needed. Before departure, your copilot will explain the controls and help you adjust your seat and mirrors.
A professional copilot stays beside you throughout the experience, providing directions and guiding you along the route. You can focus on driving without checking maps or figuring out where to turn.
This is a
guided sightseeing experience on public roads, with traffic rules and speed limits applying throughout.
Choose Your Ferrari Experience

Whether you want a quick Hollywood drive or a longer outing, choose a route that fits your itinerary.
20-Minute Hollywood Experience
A short drive through Hollywood, ideal for travelers with a busy schedule. This route does not include a Hollywood Sign photo stop, but you can take photos with the Ferrari before departure.
30-Minute Hollywood Sign Viewpoint Experience
Enjoy a Ferrari drive with a photo stop at a viewpoint overlooking the Hollywood Sign. It’s a chance to combine time behind the wheel with a classic Los Angeles photo.
50-Minute Hollywood Sign Experience
Spend more time in the Ferrari on a route that takes you closer to the Hollywood Sign. A good choice if the drive is a highlight of your vacation.
One-Hour Beverly Hills Experience
Extend your outing toward Beverly Hills and some of LA’s best-known streets. The longer route gives you more time to enjoy the car and the city.
Prefer to Be Driven?
You can enjoy the Ferrari without taking the wheel.
Choose our
Be-Driven option, and a professional driver handles the driving while you take in the Hollywood scenery. It’s a comfortable way to experience the car if you would rather relax, enjoy the views, and capture the moment.
Photos, Passengers, and Shared Drives
You’re welcome to take photos with the Ferrari before departure. Selected routes also include a photo stop, where your copilot can help take pictures.
While driving, let a passenger handle photos and videos so you can stay focused on the road.
Bringing someone along? The Ferrari California T has two small rear seats with limited legroom. Your copilot occupies the front passenger seat during Drive-It experiences, so contact us before booking to discuss passenger arrangements and additional charges.
Two eligible guests can also share the driving for an additional fee. Both must bring valid physical licenses, and your copilot will coordinate the driver change.
FAQs
Do I need sports-car driving experience?
No. Previous Ferrari experience is not required, but you should feel comfortable driving a regular vehicle on public roads.
What if I forget my license?
You cannot drive without your original, valid physical license. Ask our team whether the Be-Driven option is available for your booking.
Can we book two Ferraris together?
Yes. If you’re with a group, you can book two or even three (subject to availability) Ferraris at the same schedule and enjoy a rally-style experience with the whole group.
Will I Be Alone in the Ferrari?
No. One of our professional copilots will sit beside you during the entire drive. They will provide directions and help you navigate the route.
Is the Ferrari Difficult to Drive?
The Ferrari is automatic, and your copilot will explain the controls before you leave. It has more power than a regular car, but smooth and careful driving will help you feel comfortable.
